Remember to set clocks for daylight saving time

WASHINGTON (AP) ? It's the weekend to spring ahead for daylight saving time. Most Americans will get an hour less sleep but will gain an hour more of evening sunlight in the coming months.

Officially, the change starts Sunday at 2 a.m., though most people are likely to reset their clocks before going to bed Saturday night.

It's also a good time to put new batteries in warning devices such as smoke detectors and hazard warning radios.

Not every place makes the switch. The exceptions are Hawaii, most of Arizona, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Marianas.

Daylight saving time ends Nov. 3.
